Engagement season is here! The recent holiday season brought many smiles and sparkling rings to brides-to-be. And now with Valentine around the corner there are more engagements on their way. So what’s the next step? The beginning of the planning process.
The term, the planning process, can be overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be with a professional event planner and designer. Alexandra Marciello with AM Event Co tells how she works with her couples and taps into their vision to design the wedding of their dreams.
Planner Services
Every planner comes with their own unique talents that will assist each couple on their wedding planning journey. Alex tells us how her planning and design firm offers services from Full Planning and Design to Day of Coordination. As a planner, you meet with a couple and listen to what they are looking for in a planner. The most important element of a professional planner is the ability to listen. This leads to the planner having a better understanding of the couple’s visions. With a vision in mind, the roads are opened to create a memorable, beautiful, and stress free wedding experience.
Destination Wedding
Booking anything wedding related remotely is a challenge. There are definitely the circumstances where a planner has an initial consultation with a client and they feel comfortable to book with the planner before a face to face meeting (and of course, Skype is a huge help!). Most planners start the initial steps in venue scouting for the client and they may confirm the venue remotely by their recommendation, videos provided and the venues online website. To be safe, Alex with AM Event Co always recommend her couples to plan a visit and see their venue and meet their major vendors before signing any contracts.
Visualize to Customize
It is so important to hear the couple’s thoughts, see some visuals and spend time talking through their wants, likes and dislikes. We spend our initial consultation talking through many different aspects of the wedding day to get a feel for what is important to them and what aesthetic they prefer. Visuals are huge, we always ask for Pinterest boards or inspiration photos. Mostly because we each have a different idea of what “classic, boho, modern or casual, etc” mean. Once we gather photos and pick their brains, we incorporate our style and twists to make the overall design and inclusions unique and customized to the couple.
Decor Styles
Color palettes and decor styles change every season. A couple should keep in mind to focus on what colors and styles they like and make them happy. Ones you surround yourself with what you feel comfortable with then the design process begins. Be true to yourself and your own unique style.
Alexandra Marciello with AM Event Co encourages each couple to tap into their vision and be open to new ideas. And let your creative juices go wild and enjoy designing your wedding canvas. Cheers to Planning!
