Choosing Your Perfect Wedding Venue

Choosing Your Perfect Wedding Venue

There are so many things to think about when planning your wedding. The dress, guest list, wedding party, date, and catering are just a few of the many decisions you will need to make.

One decision that you certainly want to think about early in your planning process is the venue. The venue plays such an important role in your day as it is the base for your day, the location for much of your photography, and the place where you will be creating a lifetime of memories. Needless to say it is an important decision that you want to get right.

What To Know Before Looking For Your Wedding Venue

To make your venue search as easy as possible for you and your fiancée, start by asking yourself a few questions. You have so many decisions to make that you don’t want to waste time looking at venues because you have decided on your requirements.

Know your budget for your venue. This is true with the entire wedding. Many resources are available to help with your budget. One of the best ways to figure out how much to spend on your total budget on the venue and every aspect of your wedding is to work with a professional wedding planner. A great wedding planner can help guide you and help you save money and time.

Venues come in all shapes, sizes and price ranges. You don’t want to spend hours of your time doing site tours of venues that are outside of what you are looking to spend.

Guest List

Knowing your guest list is very important before choosing your venue. Just like venues come in many price ranges, you will find they also vary on the capacity they can hold. You don’t want to book a venue to figure out later it can’t hold the number of guest you are inviting.

Your Style

Your venue needs to reflect your style and what you have envisioned for your day. South Florida wedding venues offer so many options. Beach, Ballroom, Mansions, Villas, Garden and Barn or Rustic venues are just a few of the possibilities available to you.

Wedding Date

Be realistic when it comes to dates. Many venues will be booked 18 to 24 months in advance. If you have some flexibility with your date, Fridays and Sundays are great options. Also, with COVID causing many weddings to be postponed last year, many couples are choosing weekday wedding. Weekday weddings can be a great option and can allow you to to create an entire experience for your guest. Choosing to have a Thursday wedding can allow your out of town guest to come in, enjoy your wedding with you and spend a couple of days in your destination city before heading home.

Other Considerations

A few other items to consider when choosing your wedding venue include:

Does the venue offer accommodations for you and a few of your family and friends or are there hotels close by for your out of town guest?

Is your wedding the only event at the venue that day or are there several? Will the other events occur at the same time or at a different time of the day than your event?

Pet Friendly

If to have your beloved pet as part of your special day is important to you then making sure the venue is pet friendly will be a priority.

Does the venue offer catering or is there a preferred caterer? Do you have choices when it come to catering? If food is important to you, then you will want to be sure and know what your options are in regard to catering.

Live Music

Can you have live music at the venue? If so what are the rules and restrictions.

With so many things to thing about with just choosing your venue, it can get overwhelming. Be sure to take your time and enjoy the process.
